The Dream I had was
God and I
Strolling by the sea.
I turned to gaze upon
My life
Imprinted in the sand,
Our two foot prints,
Etched side by side
Revealed my life of joy
While walking close with Thee.
Yet, much to my profound dismay
I spied a single,
Lonely set
Mixed among the pairs
My eyes filled with tears,
As I recalled my times
Of pain and fear
Oh, Lord, did you forsake
Me in my time of greatest need?
For all I see is
But one set alone,
Without Thy company
So,
Speaking to me thus,
He smiled,
You forget, my child
It was then
I carried you…
